The other side of setting goals is something to consider seriously – I have seen people (including myself) getting complacent when they have achieved their objectives. We feel a sense of achievement, we feel safe – even when the target is short of 100%. Which means our shortcomings, limitations, errors, are all tolerated. And we get an excuse to not try any harder. Any business goal that is less than perfect is detrimental to our customers. Talking about personal goals, I have never set one for myself except once when I was very young and aspired to be a clerk – well, by those standards, I have done very well for myself I must say 😂. But the bottom line is, if I had set any serious goals for myself, I wouldn’t have achieved half the things I did. If you are open to trying everything (I am listening to Shakira in Zootopia as I write this) the world could be your oyster as you see millions of opportunities unfolding in front of you.
